What is Deep Water?
We believe adventures in the outdoors allow people to connect in ways we’ve never connected before. The wilderness offers the chance to unplug from the busyness of our culture and find solitude for healing and reflection.
We believe in experiential learning, a kind of “learning by doing” where our shared experience leads to reflection, discussion and discovery.
We believe in caring for each other’s souls. Internal Family Systems is a gentle, therapeutic modality that involves listening, asking questions and carefully walking with someone into the deeper areas of their life.

The Experience
On this four-day backpacking expedition, we will enter the national park (Colorado) on the morning of July 21 and begin our journey at the Finch Lake Trailhead in the Wild Basin area. Our first day’s moderate-to-strenuous hike is just over four miles, during which we will gain roughly 1,850 feet of elevation and make camp at the subalpine Finch Lake. After an initial ascent of 485 feet in a half-mile, the trail meanders through a peaceful montane forest and offers outstanding views of Mount Meeker.
On day two, we will break camp late and hike another 1.8 miles to the stunning Pear Lake, which sits just above 10,000 feet and offers panoramic views of the13,176-foot Mt. Copeland and 13,138-foot Ogalalla Peak. Throughout the trip, participants will experience individual and group Internal Family Systems (IFS) sessions, guided meditations, and experiential activities as we share meals, explore surrounding attractions and take in Rocky Mountain National Park’s astonishing landscape.
We will hike down and exit the park no later than 4:00 p.m. on July 24. An optional group dinner out will follow, for a chance to debrief and connect before parting ways.
