What is Deep Water?

We believe adventures in the outdoors allow people to connect in ways we’ve never connected before. The wilderness offers the chance to unplug from the busyness of our culture and find solitude for healing and reflection.

We believe Nature has the power of helping us connect to our deepest core. When we connect to ourselves in this way in Nature, we feel held and can begin healing old wounds.

We believe in experiential learning, a kind of “learning by doing” where our shared experience leads to deep reflection, inquiry and discovery.

We believe that, when we do this in community, we can care for each other’s souls. Internal Family Systems is a gentle, therapeutic modality that involves listening, asking questions and guiding a person into a deeper conversation with various aspects of their lives.

The Experience

On this four-day expedition, we will enter Rocky Mountain National Park on the morning of August 12 and meet at the Lawn Lake Trailhead. Our first day’s moderate hike is just over six miles, during which we will gain 2,490 feet of elevation while taking in sporadic views of Longs Peak, Mount Meeker and the Mummy Range.

We will set a basecamp at the breathtaking subalpine Lawn Lake, which sits just below 11,000 feet. In the following days, we will participate in meditations, invitations for deep inquiry and sitting in council and conversation while we share meals, explore surrounding wilderness and enjoy Rocky Mountain National Park’s astonishing landscape.

We will hike down and exit the park no later than 4:00 p.m. on August 15.
